Claire's Personal Message

Hello! My name is Claire; I am the founder of Gentle Dreamers Sleep Consultancy.

I’m married, and together my partner and I are raising two wonderful boys who fill our days with energy, challenges, and laughter. Becoming a parent has shaped so much of who I am, both personally and professionally, and it’s through my own experiences that I discovered just how important compassion, patience, and genuine support truly are for families.

Our eldest is 13 —a bundle of enthusiasm who’s not only obsessed with Fortnite but has also found a real passion for crown green bowls. Whether he’s strategizing his next gaming victory or perfecting his technique on the bowling green, his determination and excitement never fail to make me smile. Watching him grow into his own unique personality has taught me the importance of encouraging children to feel confident in who they are and supporting the things that bring them joy.

My youngest is 9, and we’re currently supporting him as he’s being assessed for autism and ADHD. This journey has been deeply personal and has completely changed the way I understand children’s emotional and developmental needs. Through learning to support him in the ways that work best for him, I’ve developed a much deeper appreciation for gentle, flexible approaches that meet children where they are rather than expecting them to fit into rigid expectations. I’m endlessly proud of both my boys for the unique ways they see and experience the world, and they inspire me every day to approach parenting—and the families I support—with empathy, understanding, and patience.

Supporting, helping, and truly listening to people is something I care deeply about. I have always naturally put others first—whether it’s being there for a friend who needs to talk, encouraging my children through their own ups and downs, or offering a gentle ear to someone who feels unheard. Creating meaningful connections and helping others feel safe, calm, and supported is at the heart of who I am, and it’s a huge part of the reason I felt drawn towards supporting families through sleep challenges. I know firsthand how exhausting and emotional those difficult seasons of parenting can feel, especially when sleep is hard to come by.

My experience working in a nursery gave me a deep appreciation for the many different ways children develop, communicate, and learn. Later, completing my Level 2 qualification in Understanding Autism broadened my perspective even further. What began as professional learning quickly became deeply personal, helping me better understand and support my own little one’s unique strengths and needs. It gave me the confidence to embrace gentle, inclusive approaches that celebrate neurodiversity and prioritise connection, emotional wellbeing, and trust. Blending my professional knowledge with my lived experience allows me to support families from a place of honesty, empathy, and real understanding—not just theory.

As a family, we love getting outside and going for walks—sometimes it’s a quick wander through the neighbourhood, other times an adventure through a local park discovering new paths or chatting about our day. Those moments remind me how important slowing down, reconnecting, and finding joy in the little things can be, particularly during overwhelming stages of family life. We also love film nights together, piling onto the sofa with popcorn and escaping into different stories for a few hours. It’s these simple moments of connection and comfort that I value most, and they’re a reminder that family life doesn’t need perfection to feel meaningful.

My experiences as both a parent and a professional have reinforced just how essential gentle, personalised support is when families are navigating sleep struggles or unique challenges with their child. I understand how isolating unsettled nights can feel and how overwhelming it is when you’re trying everything while running on empty. That’s why my approach is rooted in kindness, lived experience, and realistic guidance rather than rigid routines or unrealistic expectations. I believe every family deserves to feel heard, understood, and supported without judgment. My aim is to work alongside you to create calm, confidence, and more restful nights in a way that feels right for your child, your values, and your family as a whole.
